Ho Chi Minh City dated 27 Feb 2017 - Gaia Nature Conservation cooperated with Ngo Tat To Secondary School to conduct a talk and gameshow at Ngo Tat To Secondary School, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City. Approximately 3000 students grade 6, 7,8,9 participated in the event to learn about endangered wildlife and situation of endangered wildlife consumption in Vietnam.

The event started with a short talk of Ms. Huyen Do – Director of Gaia Nature Conservation about most critical endangered wildlife in Vietnam. The talk helped the children to know how critical situation of Rhino, Tiger, Bear, Pangolin and Elephant in Vietnam and urged them to take practical action to protect wildlife.

After that, the children learn about the Vietnam Red Book and different animals in different categories of the Vietnam Red Book. The whole school were then excited to take part in the game entitled Right or Wrong to learn about illegal wildlife trade and what a student can do to help. Best students with correct answers were awarded with a souvenir from Gaia.

“Every one can take part to protect wildlife. But not everyone know how to start and how to help!”, said Ms. Huyen Do. “Similar events should be conducted in every school in Vietnam so that children are awared of illegal wildlife consumption and what they should do to protect wildlife”, added Ms. Huyen.
