1000 children learn about endangered wild plants and animals

Ho Chi Minh City, dated 27 March 2017 – Gaia Nature Conservation cooperated with Binh Tri Dong Secondary School, Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City organised a quiz on endangered wild plants and animals. The activity aims to raise awareness of children aged 12-15 years old on the trading situation of endangered wildlife in Vietnam, as well as to encourage the children to take appropriate actions toward wildlife protection.

Participated in the quiz were approximately 1000 students from grade 7 and 8, the school management board and teachers.

After a short introduction of endangered wild plants and animals of Vietnam, the students enjoyed an exciting warm up dance and then took part in the quiz. Questions and practical situations related to endangered species such as: Rose Wood, Fujian Cypress, Agar Wood, Rhino, Elephant, Tiger and Bears... were brought up for the students to learn and discuss. The students also leant about actions they should take to protect the endangered species.

“The children were exciting to participate in the quiz. And the teachers highly appreciated Gaia’s support in organising the event. This is a great opportunity for the children to learn and to think critically about wildlife protection. Every body should take part to help the wildlife before it’s too late” – Said Ngan Thi Kim Le – Gaia Nature Conservation.

Gaia Nature Conservation is grateful for the great support and kindly donation of Binh Tri Dong Secondary School. Don’t hesitate to contact Gaia at info@gaiavn.org for further supports and consultancies related wildlife education in your schools.
