Capacity building

This programme empowers current and future conservationists to maximize their effectiveness in nature conservation through training courses and hands-on activities.

 Target groups of this programme includes staff and leaders of national parks and protected areas, university students and their clubs, students and teachers, universities, staff of other conservation organisations.

Some areas for capacity building are:

  1. Biodiversity research and monitoring
  2. Applying advance technology in biodiversity research and monitoring and patrolling such as Camera trap, GPS, and different software such as Map Info, Mapping for natural resource management.
  3. Skills in developing, implementing and monitoring environmental education programmes for students and teachers, leaders, tourists, local communities in national parks and protected areas or the public, schools and universities in big cities.
  4. Integrating content on wildlife protection and biodiversity conservation in the official curriculum or extra curricular activities in schools and universities.
  5. Communications skills (develop, implement, and monitor communications strategy, including skills on material development and designing, effective use of  colours, writing news and reports, taking photos, co-ordinating media, and social network communication).
  6. Skills in developing and implementing nature interpretation field trips or integrating environmental education in ecotourism.
